Attracting Others With A Smile
May 13, 2008 |
People often wonder what they can do to change their perception of themselves by others. They don’t quite know what to do to move ahead, or for things to work out in their favor. I have found that smiling is a contagious element our of innate character that conveys our innermost thoughts. It’s a true fact that if you smile, people will really smile back at you.
I remember as a child, my teacher’s would smile at me if I struggled with something or had a hard time with a problem or a project. At first, I was confused. Here I was, clueless, and she wants to smile?! As, I got older, I became annoyed at the smiles, thinking they were mocking me as I stumbled through life. Now that I’m older, I can fully understand and appreciate the smile and what it means:
Smiles convey a sense of hope. It lets you know that everything is going to be alright. All is well and will work out.
Smiles tell a story. The person who is smiling is saying they’re happy, content with themselves and just wanted to share that with you.
Smiling is actually therapeutic. It takes way more facial muscles to frown than to smile. Looks like your face could theoretically stay wrinkle fee with that concept.
If you pay close attention to others while you’re out, you will notice that a good majority of people (strangers) smile at each other as they pass, sometimes never saying a word because the smile says it all.
Give it a try…today. Smile at someone and see if it isn’t reciprocated. Careful though. You might catch some happiness.
